We know that creating safe areas for your children to play is key to getting your children outdoors for some fresh air. so here's some tips on creating a kid-friendly garden that you will love too!
1. First of all plan with your family.
Listen to your children's ideas and then work around that also adding stuff you would like to see so you can create a beautiful garden without turning the whole backyard into a playground.
2. Secure the borders of your garden
not is this only for stopping unwanted trespassers but also is important in keeping your little ones wandering off to explore or to retrieve the ball that has managed to cross the neighbours fence.
3. You can still keep your garden natural!
If your looking to add something your children will love without spoiling the looks of your garden try adding stepping stones with cut logs or boulders. These can also make for a nice seating area when its time to wind down.
4. Design some creative paths or decking.
Kids love to ride their bikes, scooters, skateboards etc so including a paved surface such as paths or a patio will allow them to do so whilst still having a design you like.
5. Plan for the future.
Create play equipment that can be converted into something else for when your child is all grown up. For example a sandpit can later become a pond or fire pit. A play house can be converted into a shed to store all of your garden equipment. Or just include play equipment that can be easily dismantled in the future to clear up space for something else.
